There are some great restaurants in Watertown. But most I know of are small, independent places that might be hard to do gift cards for. If they like brunch, I really like Uncommon Grounds and Spot Cafe was good too.

There's also Porcinis, Strip-T's, and Casa de Pedro. You could always do a foodler/grub hub gift card, or (I swear this is less embarrassing to actually use than it sounds) a Phantom Gourmet gift card. Most of those restaurants take it, I think. I know Pedro's does, because that's where I used ours, and I am 99% sure Porcini's does as well.
Yeah they moved like a few blocks out of Watertown square, so I should have specified watertown square.
What do folks think about not your average joes? I used to LOVE going there for lunch when I worked in Medford but I think my love is driven by the cheesy oil that you dip the bread in. I saw that there is one in Watertown.

Haha, I LOVE that cheesy oil! The rest of their food is just okay to me. But whatever you get, your friends will really appreciate. We ate out a ton after we moved because we spent so much time unpacking and settling in.

There's an amazing little Italian restaurant on the side street next to Target. (At least I hope it's still there because it's awesome). It's called Grappa. Small place, but really good food. There's also Verona down town. I have no idea if it's good, but I've driven by it a bunch. The Town (I think that's the name) seems to be popular every time I drive by, but I haven't been there. Casa de pedro is good, but on the pricier side for what it is, IMO. Stellina is also good stuff!

Oh, no! H and I tried Grappa and it was awful! We had a groupon and we were so disappointed. The food was really Meh in our opinion.

Booo. I haven't been in probably 4 years at least. That makes me sad. It used to be a pretty awesome little place. It was always packed and impossible to get into when I lived around there. Good to know it's gone to shit so that I don't go there again.
