hollandaise seems too fancy for mcd's, but people do love their sauces... so, idk? maybe? lol. really, i have no authority to answer this question. the only thing i eat from mcd's is their fries. and diet coke, because nothing is better than a large diet coke for $1 all summer.

There is some sort of hollandaise sauce on the bacon egg and cheese bagel, I get that all the time! Delicious! But I don't think there's any sauce on the Egg McMuffin IIRC.
I thought I saw something on tv once that said it had a hollandaise-like sauce on it. H says no. TBH, I've never had an egg mcmuffin before, so I have no firshand experience on this. I'm a sausage biscuit with egg girl. And hashbrowns. They're a must.
Lol I didn't actually read the question before I voted. D'oh! I thought you were asking if I wanted it on there.
I knew there was none. I mean how does that even work? It's a sandwich. Hollandaise is a sauce. Unless you are eating on a plate with a fork, it would be giant mess. The whole point of fast food (for me, at least!) is that it is portable and you can eat it while driving or heading somewhere!
It's a butter sauce. I don't know about an egg mcmuffin but I know they put it on their bagel sandwich. I used to request they hold it, but it's sooo good. Jeez, I haven't had fast food breakfast in ages. Maybe tomorrow,
After reading Kitchen Confidential, hollandaise sauce at a nice place gives me the creeps. So no.
Yeah, but McD's has high standards when it comes to procedures and stuff. I'd probably trust the food there more than most places.
As for the OP... I've never heard of an egg McMuffin having hollindaise (or however you spell it.) I get them like twice a week (well, I've switched to the egg white delight). The "normal" McMuffin has an english muffin, a slice of the orange cheese, a real egg, a slice of canadian bacon/ham, and butter.

I really thought they did (I remember reading something about them developing their recipe for it), or at least a pseudo-hollandaise sauce. I assumed it just got kind of melded in with the cheese on the sandwich, and that's why it never stood out.
ETA: Oh, maybe not. I must be mis-remembering the story:

According to their website:
"Our signature sandwich is made with a freshly cracked* Grade A egg with extra lean Canadian bacon and a slice of melty American cheese, held together by a freshly toasted English muffin made with eight grams of whole grain. And all that for 300 calories."

Not on the biscuits and muffins, but there is/was 'breakfast sauce' on the bagels sandwiches. I think they recently got rid of bagels. They weren't on the menu last time I went and they have been advertizing the 'new' steak muffin. They made the steak patty smaller and put it on a muffin with no sauce, with round egg, and I think the bagels had folded egg (I get it w/o egg).
