I got 15 out of 17, but for the life of me, I have never read a single fucking thing by Paul Coelho, in whose favor that "classic literature" post seems to be seriously skewed.
We once had a raucous, sangria-fueled book club discussion on The Alchemist with 22 people in my living room screaming at one another about a book supposedly about peace and enlightenment. @imback - you were at that one weren't you???

Oooh, I love a good first line. Stephen King has said he spends months (sometimes even years) crafting a good one. The best first line ever was in the quiz. It belongs to Anna Karenina.

8/17
except 6 and 10 the rest I got right were lucky guesses. and I got 6 right from watching the movie Matilda and not reading the book (Matilda or the answer book).

I was at the Blindness by Jose Saramago book club. We discussed what we'd do in a disaster scenario. I remember that even though I'd said on ML that I'd want it to be over quick, at the bookclub I was all oh I'd try to survive. Really I'd probably be one of the first to meet my demise and wouldn't have a choice either way.

I got 15/17, but am cringing that they included Fifty Shades of Grey and Twilight. If this is for "literature nerds," uhm. I'd have done better with classic literature, lol.

9 of 17. Mostly educated guesses. I was praying when I opened it that "call me Ishmael" would be on there. And the Pride and Prejudice one...well...obvs.

15/17, but I wish I had gotten the Fifty Shades one wrong. Or that I had stopped at that line and not read the rest. I missed Life of Pi and Twilight, both of which i'd read. Paolo Coehlo was a dead guess, though.
