What I was told is that when you first start exercising (doing something your body isn't used to) your muscles will retain water to "heal" themselves. This makes it look like you've gained weight, but it is really just water. Also, I was told that the water gain goes in a pattern. So say, the first week you have really good weight loss and the next week isn't so good. The not so good means you have water weight. I was told that is your body's cycle. Anyway, that is what I was told and that is what I see when I pay attention to it.
Try not to stress about it. I'm sure you'll notice a really good loss soon.
