2 years ago I suffered a grade II MCL strain & patellar subluxation w/tearing of my medial patellafemoral ligament.
My knee feels great...about 90% of the time. The only pain I still have is the MPFL tear. But, I can run, & even waterski, but I always wear my knee brace, just for security.
Anyway, in bootcamp we just had to do lunges, & it killed my knee. I wasn't wearing my brace but I don't really think that would have mattered.
Are there any alternatives to a lunge?? Im going to ask the instructor @ next class, & if anything I'll just do something else if she has us do them again, I was just curious.

Have you tried doing a reverse lunge, putting your foot back instead of forward? That is what I usually do instead of a regular lunge when my knee is bothering me.
