We've introduced the kiddos to Star Wars and they are completely enthralled. They go around singing Darth Vader's theme, and I heard them playing Star Wars earlier today and speaking with British accents.
Anyway, I want to get them some Legos but the website has no age ranges so I can't tell what's age-appropriate and won't simply frustrate the hell out of them for being too complicated. Is anyone able to help? DD is 7 and DS is nearly 6.
If you search for them on Amazon they usually have a picture of the box as the main picture which if you squint you can see the recommended age without having to click each individual link.
I usually go by price because the price often reflects the difficulty.
Most of the small sets, around $25-$35 should be good for them on their own. My son is almost 8 and can do those on his own with minimal help from us.
The $100+ ones are really cool, but they usually involve lots of steps and multiple bags of pieces and take a long time to put together. My kid gets bored and quits halfway through then the pieces get mixed up in everything else and we never finish them. Or I put it together, he breaks it in 5 seconds and can't put it back together on his own.
If the $25-$35 ones are really easy for them, you can go to the $40-60 and see how they do. But I wouldn't start there.
Also... They just released Minecraft Lego. I don't know if your kids are into Minecraft, but that set looks like fun.
