Someone my SO and I know is giving us a week of their 'time' in a timeshare, in Cancun. We have the following places to choose from, but we haven't been to any of these. If you have any feedback on any of these, please let me know. Or if you think one is better than another b/c of stories you have heard (family/friends) have gone too, please let me know. We know some friends will be going the same time as us and they are staying at The Caribbean, The Sands, and The Islander. Hoping one of these is close to any of those.

First choice would be Le Blanc, followed by Secrets the Vine, then Zoetry. LB and Secrets are adults-only, but all three are high end resorts. Le Blanc is consistently rated one of the top resorts in Cancun. Secrets is newest, Zoetry gets the most spotty reviews of the three.
If I remember correctly, LB is supposed to have amazing food but maybe no balconies? I'm not a huge fan of the Secrets pool area but beach will be nice. Zoetry is the smallest and most intimate of the three.
zoetry is amazing...I don't know about spotty reviews I thought it was amazing. I just checked tripadvisor and saw one spotty review. the beach is not that great I would agree with that.
moon palace was also very nice.
secrets resorts are always amazing
le blanc is supposed to be awesome, but I haven't been there
We went to the LeBlanc last summer and is was absolutely incredible. The service was amazing everywhere we went within the resort. It's adult-only.
We walked to the Beach Palace one afternoon and wanted to get out of there as soon as possible--it's incredibly compact and felt really crowded. Also lots of kids EVERYWHERE. This might be a good choice is you're going on a family vacation with younger kids and older kids (I feel like I saw a lot of kids in the 12-14 age bracket), and it is right in the hotel zone.
We were married at the Moon Palace, and while it was very nice, the LeBlanc was much nicer (but also much $$$). I would also say that the Moon Palace is off the beaten path, whereas LeBlanc is right in the hotel zone and minutes from many other hotels.
BTW the Moon Palace, Beach Palace, and Le Blanc are all part of the Palace resorts. Great service at all of them, just very different personalities.
I like bang for my buck and heard that Zoetry Parasio de la Bonita is $$$. Secrets The Vine is new but it is like a high rise hotel and the pool area looks small so it will probably be so crowded.
