I received my confirmation email from the Twin Cities Marathon with my corral assignment. I says that I am in corral 2, based off of a confirmed time of 4:00:34. This is my first marathon, and based on my training times, there is no way in hell I can run a 4:00 marathon. I am planning on being in the 4:45-5:00 range.
I have a couple of options: 1. Email the race staff and correct and be put into corral 3 2. Stick with the corral 2 assignment and put myself in the appropriate time range?
I'd hang onto the assignment. You can always drop to a lower corral if you want but moving to a higher on is harder. Gives you more flexibility if your training goes better than expected
I think you're fine. Races generally have no problem with you deciding to step back in corrals on race day.
I would, however, make sure you look through the rest of your reg details & info carefully. If they mixed up your time they could have confused some of your other data with someone else too.
Best of luck! I ran the 10 mile last year & loved it. The marathon is definitely on my future list.
