If you decide you don't want to make the trip, do you think they'd be willing to give you a prorated refund? That seems so odd that it would close so suddenly.

So bizarre! I can't imagine they wouldn't give you a refund.
That reminds me of DH's college job. He was a server and went in for a meeting before work (3 hours before they opened for the day)and they told everybody that as of immediately they were closed! This was a big box Darden restaurant so was totally insane. apparently the managers knew for a while, but couldn't tell anyone, even the workers.

Not as severe, but something similar happened to my sister. She worked at a 5 star, super fancy restaurant and went into work on Thursday, and at the end of their shift, they were all told that the restaurant would be closing on Saturday. They didn't even tell the executive pastry chef who moved all the way to Portland 6 months before, from the east coast, for the job at that restaurant.
Oh no, I hope they're not closed for good. We've already paid for the fall session so I would be pissed if they closed with no notice like that. Sorry Chels
ETA: guys, I apologize for the whininess of this post for something so trivial...I look at some of the seriousness of posts from you all and I get a little perspective. I know in the grand scheme of things it's no big deal.
Hey now. It's OK to whine about all things great and small. This is a big deal to you, understandably.

also this! There have been serious and sobering posts recently but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be upset about this or feel like you shouldn't tell us!!!!
That sucks! We love gym classes and I would be upset if they closed. Do you have a My Gym near you?
We don't have a My Gym near us...but we have a Little Gym- are they similar?
We chose My Gym over Little Gym because they had a summer special, but I've heard good things about Little Gym. I think all 3 are similar. And if our gym close, I would be really upset!
