I just did a 2.5K OWS race this morning. After doing triathlons for 10+ years, I didn't really know how to race just a swimming race. I started like I start the triathlons - easy and calmly. Then, I was able to pick it up. Then, I started to get that competitive feeling, which I don't usually get until I start cycling. I started seeing people ahead of me and working to catch and pass them. And, I did! It was fun to really push it at the end and not worry about getting on a bike. I was the 6th female and 1st in my AG!
And, I got to meet Susie! Unfortunately, I couldn't stay and see her finish the 5K, which didn't start until after I was done. I'm sure she kicked ass though!!
NICE!!!!!!!!!!! Great job! Sounds awesome, and I'm jealous that you and Susie got to see each other!
Unfortunately it was for about a minute! She found me and we talked a little, but she had to go race and it's not like I could really cheer her on since she's in the water! Next time!!
Nice job trigal! Next time we can chat longer, when we're not doing distances that happen in succession
My swim went pretty well. I was disappointed not to win women's 5k overall again (I got 2nd overall women's) but when somebody shows up who is faster, well, that's how it goes. I dropped about 3:40 from my time last year, and got under 1:20 very safely, so I really can't complain. I went 1:17:05 I think.

Also, age group win twins!
Nice job!! Glad you made your time goal! I'm sure we will meet again! (I'm doing the LG Olympic this weekend. You?)

I am! See you then!
I am impressed at how you are getting right back at it after IMLP. Most of my friends who did it too were pretty much done for the season (mentally if not physically) afterwards. They show up to tri club on Thursdays all, "yeah, maybe I'll get in the water!"

Believe me, I'm not expecting too much on Saturday! My training has been very sporadic since LP. But, I like racing and it'll be fun to do a local race (I haven't done any others this year).
