Lol, I NEVER run trails. Ever. What a dirty little secret you're all hiding!
Went this morning: it was 6am, super cool out, the sun was rising, the plants were green, it was perfection. I feel like I fell in love with running all over again. I did 8 miles at an avg pace of 8:35, which is STELLAR for me, as you can see from my PRs.
Because trails are horrid, & you're a freak of fucking nature if you mange to actually run faster on them. Welp....that's at least why I've never told you about them. ETA: I feel like we have different trails, because I'll kill myself to hold a 9:00...which is fairly slow these days for me.

Lol! Well, my paved path is pretty darn hilly, and these were next to the river, ie VERY flat . And it was not a thousand damn degrees!!

God, you think maybe my garmin is wrong?
No, I think my trails just suck. Lol I'm in the minority on this board for trail run hatred....I think. We're also in for at least another 2 months of suck before we get nice weather. Glad you had a good run!!

I'm sure I've said trails are awesome on here before. Glad you love them too. I did nearly all my runs on trails under I moved to Iowa. It was so rough too start running concrete when I moved to Iowa.

Hey - I have a little secret for you...trails are amazing!
Seriously, they are. I love them. I've been running short-mid distances on them all year but headed out for a long run on single track about a week ago. I wasn't fast (nearly 2,000ft of elevation gain) but it was a perfect run! I feel madly in love with trails that night and had the best 16+ mile run of my life! I ran alone, without music and wasn't bored for a second. Pure perfection.

You are so cute. Of COURSE it's not wrong! You were on a flat dirt road, in the shade, after training for a flucking HIM in the damn sun and heat and hills for months. Let's face it, girl...you're faster now.
There's no way in hell I could hold an 8:35 for that long right now. HERO!

Great job, for me it depends on the kind of trail, if it's really wide and relatively little debris, I love it. Easier on my knees and no traffic lights. If it's more rustic, I'd rather speed walk because I am very uncoordinated.
