I went back to the sports med ortho on Tuesday. He reiterated that he thought my knee problem was patellar tendonitis. This time I got to talk to him for about 20 minutes. He took the time to explain why he thought it was tendonitis vs. a torn meniscus or something else. It made much more sense. He wants me to give it 3 more weeks. If it's not "significantly" better by then, he wants to do a MRI. He put me on stronger anti-inflammatories and said to do a few more PT sessions. My next one is Wed.
I rode very easily this week, and the knee is starting to feel better. On yesterday's gravel grinder, I only had two painful twinges. I had none during today's cyclocross practice even during my really hard efforts. I plan to ride easily the next few days and test the knee again on Wed. at cyclocross practice. I can walk on it normally now. It only hurts if I forget and twist or pivot on my right leg.
--Ugg! My knee buckled as I was walking my my office this morning. I had to have someone help me back to my desk. Now it hurts.
