Agree with both posters. Not drinking water is a bad idea.
Work on your breathing. I fix mine by taking a deep inhale, hold a few seconds, and exhale forceably. Also, roll your shoulders back and down. You might be tensing up.

i honestly don't think breathing is the problem. i do alot of yoga so i am always paying attention to my breathing and when the cramps get bad i do a big "exhale" but it doesn't seem to be helping.
the only reason i think it is food or drinks is because the morning runs don't have any cramps??
Maybe you are already dehydrated? Or your electolytes are out of balance (sodium, potassium)? Also maybe have your gait and form checked? Getting cramps in your side is similar to any other cramping muscle so I would try to find a solution that you would use for cramping muscles.
