This was breakfast this morning. I'm hoping lunch goes just as well. Ignore the fact that I have to put the table and chairs in a closet when they aren't in use because all they want to do is climb on top and drag it and the chairs all over the house.
So lunch wasn't awful! They stayed in the chairs but were moving the table all around (its pretty light) and doing their usual food throwing. So, lunch ended pretty quickly after the 3rd. " No throwing food." warning. But not bad for their 2nd time!
Thank you for posting this! I was looking at that exact table online yesterday and was trying to get a good feel of how big it was!
The boys are adorable!! Squee! Hopefully lunch goes smoothly!
$20 bucks! Thanks IKEA! ITs pretty small. Its not the thickest thing in the world, which is why I put it away when my climbers aren't using it. But for $20, I don't mind that it prboably wont hold 35 pounds of 2 kids on top of it.
Its really small!! Can you keep it under your dining room table an bring it out at meal times?
This is the space we are working with. We don't have a real table, it's a pub table.
Although we could probably move their anywhere chairs (which are where the sliding glass door is now) into their rooms and put the little table by the door.
Oh, so cute! I think we are going to get the Ikea table for Chanukah. Hopefully it will help with food throwing.
Lunch went from the plate, to the table, then the floor. It's the latest game. throw food on the floor and say. "Uh-oh." But there are NO straps to clean!! That in itself is worth it!!

Shushhh. Let me believe this will solve all of my problems
formerlyllizzyb I do. Its pretty light weight and the boys can push it all over the house, and i wouldn't want them to stand on the chairs, but it works for now
Adorable! One night a week, Caleb is having his meal at a little table, when we go over to visit some friends. I was surprised at how well he did, but he also learned that the table will slide nicely. It didn't help that Abby was on the other side of it, sliding it back to him. Caleb, however, has a tendency to want to roam when he eats, so only half the meal was eaten at the chair.
I understand how hard it is to find space for stuff. Our first apartment when Abby was born was 525 square feet. There's no way we would have had the room for a little table and chair for her!

I sometimes have to turn the table upside down to stop the climbing
