I'll never understand why grown adults feel the need to hash things out on Facebook. A teenager? Okay, fine, it's to be somewhat expected. But someone your MIL's age? Really? This kind of shit makes me so stabby!
I've seen so many things like this come across my feed, and some that were so perfect, but I don't feel the need to hash this out in any way, shape, or form in a public forum. I'm very cautious about what I post, or "like", or share because I don't want to create feelings in others like the ones I felt today.

I don't want to unfriend her just yet. She's my son's grandmother, and I'm going to have to have some contact with her for years to come. I'd like to not create unnecessary waves, but she and FIL are now hidden on my feed. I'll save unfriending and blocking for when they start sending hate mail to me directly, I think.
I just hope you KNOW that you don't owe these people anything. Not being friends with them on face space doesn't change their relationship with their grandson.

yes, I do know that. It's not really for them, its more to reduce the awkwardness for me. I'm sure I will have contact with them long after this is all finished, and I know they will have some bitter feelings because that's the way it is. I just don't want to make it worse than it's already going to be.
