P.S. this is the same couple that uninvited a bunch of people (including us) who didn't get their RSVP cards in on time. I mailed mine before the deadline, after telling the bride and her parents in person and BUYING A DAMN STAMP because they didn't include one on the RSVP envelope, but it apparently arrived too late, so we're out.
Where is Chad from old school P&E when you need him?
ETA - Maybe this is my upbringing speaking, but people need to be told not to wear jeans to a yacht club? Leave that shit off the invite and tell Crazy Uncle Ned what to wear.

Lol, you're so WASPy (in the best way)
Jews don't yacht so I wouldn't know - though common sense would probably tell me no jeans. That's the craziest attire wording. Why not just send everyone an outfit and then not worry

I'm not really a WASP. I'm a mutt in an extreme way. I come from a family of hippies caught in the professional golf world. I know the best way to poop in the woods, and I know what to wear at the country club.
I got uninvited from a wedding last month. I thought was wasn't going to be able to go, which I mentioned only to my mom. Then everything worked out so I could go. It was still before RSVPs were due (and I hadn't sent it out yet) and I was informed that I was uninvited because they "over invited and not enough people declined" so they had to start making some "tough choices"
Ultimately it ended up being a drama fest and I'm glad I was uninvited but it's still horribly tacky.
I also got unasked to be a bridesmaid once because my friends mom didn't know me and clearly couldn't approve me. But that's another monster entirely
WOW. Some people... So are you still friends with any of them? I would think not.

I would never expect to see attire info on an invite unless it's black tie. I've been to several yacht club weddings and was also able to dress appropriately. Who would wear jeans to a wedding anyways?!

You would be surprised! I think it's because of where I live, and there are lots of "small town" weddings, where some men will wear their dressy jeans. LOL There is a very wide range of dress that I see depending on the family of either bride or groom and where they are from.
A few years ago, we were in small town ND for Dh's cousin's wedding. I brought a dress since I always wear dresses to a wedding. I also brought dress pants and a nice top....juts in case. If I would have worn the dress, the only people that would have been more dressed up than me would have been the bridesmaids.

Yeah, I guess. I can not imagine going to a wedding where jeans are ok. I've even been to a backyard wedding with pizza and no one wore jeans.

I always cringe when I see it. I would never imagine wearing jeans either.
This is perfect for my new porn film inspired by jamaicam, Tropical Elegance: Sand in Every Crevice.
An old roommate had a Frederick's sailor costume! Maybe she'll let me borrow it! I think I was a bra, mini skirt, and hat - everything one needs to man the helm.
