For the most part, we read a few books and then I say Time to go to Sleep. Hug him as I walk him to his room. Lay him down and get his bunny (a big white rabbit) and turn the fan on low. He just goes to sleep.
Every now and then, he woke up and had to sleep w/ us but it has been like once in the last month. I at least have a decent sleeper. He wasn't always so easy. Used to have to lay in my bed and he would drink his bottle, until at 15 months I took it away. So he has actually done a ton better w/o the bottle.

It's different every night... Sunday night he rolled over and went to sleep, it was awesome. Last night he cried and cried until I nursed him to sleep then put him back in his crib. The other night DH had to stay in the room and rub his back until he fell asleep.
Madison is actually pretty easy. (knock wood) Lately after we put her pjs on and pick her up she doesn't even want a little cuddle. She's actually been lunging out of our arms toward the crib the past few nights. After I put her down, she decides which position she wants, snuggles with her blanket and sucks her thumb.
Our bedtime routine is bath, PJs, brush teeth, vitamins, and singing songs while rocking her. When she's pretty sleepy to almost out, I lay her down in her crib, at which point she usually cries/screams for 1-2 minutes, then lays down, sucks her thumb, and she's out for the night. However, the last 3 days she has gone down for naps & bedtime without a fuss. I don't know why, I don't know what changed. It's wonderful, but how can I keep doing it right when I don't know what I'm doing right!?! AHHHH!

Most nights it's like this: Eat, play, bath, teeth, pj's, watch Daniel Tiger while we cuddle on the couch. At 8 the tv goes off, we go to his room, talk about our day and the next day, then I put him down, he grabs his stuffed Bambi and rolls over.
Tonight, it was bother mama while she has work stuff to do, don't go to bed until 9:30.
They have a bottle while watching Wheel of Fortune -not kidding. They don't care about TV at all, but the second WofF comes on they run and sit in front of the TV. Then its brush teeth, H has one kid, I have the other. WE say good night to "our" baby, then the other baby. Then the boys do their goodnight routine. Its really cute. They take their binkys out of their mouth and put it in their brother's mouth then they touch foreheads which is how they kiss.
Then they go in their cribs with their lovies. I sing a little goodnight song as I close the sliding walls and turn off the light.
They are usually out within 10 minutes. We had a stretch (hasnt happened in a week, so maybe its over?) where Jack was waking up 2-3 times an hour after going to bed and screaming. We would go in, he would want to be held for literally 10 seconds, then squirm to get down and pass right back out. It was weird.

My heart just melted into a big puddle on the floor. This is beyond adorable!!!
This thread inspired me to start putting Lillian in her crib again instead of letting her fall asleep on the couch when done playing. I stayed with her for a few minutes while she rolled around talking and making noises. I left and she cried for about 5 minutes and i knew she was tired because she woke up at 3am for the day! We used to put her right to bed but somewhere we fell off track.
