Patsy and I went out for dinner tonight, for our anniversary. We were only gone for about an hour and 45 minutes, but apparently Zoe was not a happy camper. Normally she does great with my parents for short amounts of time. She doesn't even seem to notice I'm gone. However, this evening, my parents left our house to walk the two blocks to the food carts as we were leaving and they let Zoe walk. I guess she was fine the whole way down, but once they got to the carts she looked around and started sobbing and was inconsolable. They brought her back home and my mom asked if she'd like to take a bath and that calmed her down, but then once she was in the bath she started crying and wanted out. My dad went and grabbed them some food and she ate with them, which is great, but then she was pouty and eventually my mom was able to sing her to sleep. She was kind of weird and shy with my parents when they came over tonight, too, which is soooo out of character for her. So weird.
Awww poor Zoe. They seem to go through odd little emotional phases. Max is obsessed with his Grandma (my Mom) and adores her! But he had a few weeks where he was really weird with her and grumpy in general. I think he was teething or just had some attachment stuff going on related to me going back to work. My poor Mom was bummed. He seems fine with her now though.
