Your post reminded me that I used to go to Workcamp (with my church youth group) every summer for a week during high school. I should have put that down, but I didn't think of it.
I will agree with you, it was unexpectedly fun! I was just curious about the type you went to.

It was a Lutheran church camp on a lake. I think there was actually a "work camp" available there, but I never did that one. They had all sorts of different camps like a water camp where they did boating and water sports, canoe trek (my brother loved it), and a challenge course camp with was like team problem solving and such, and a lot more. I always just did the regular camps.
I worked my way into being comfortable at camp. I started with a "Dad and me" retreat. Then an all girls camp. Then just a regular camp. We did a variety of activities - arts and crafts, canoeing, swimming, challenge course, archery/riflery, of course Bible study and devotion, and we did at least 1 service project each year.
