Running a temp can go hand in hand with a higher heart rate. Give him a lot of fluids today, and keep taking his temp. Call the pedi if it gets higher. Hope he feels better!!
It can be due to the fever, but remember, toddlers have higher heart rates than adults do, so it's not as high as it would seem if an adult had a 140 heart rate.

I'd call the pediatrician to be safe. Violet gets an elevated heart rate whenever she gets a fever and we've been sent to the ER because of it twice. Is his breathing rapid as well? Violet gets that, too.

I can't tell about his breathing- unless he's asleep, how can I determine this? He would probably push my face away if I got all up in there trying to listen to him breathe lol.
Also, his temp isn't that high- he always runs a little warm anyways, so it's not like he has a high fever...his cheeks are flushed, and his heart rate is still a little high. Maybe not as much, but it feels like it's fluttering fast.
Hmm... I was able to just hold Violet and count her breaths. You'd notice if it was fast though. I'd give him a fever reducer and see if that helps the heart rate.
This has happened to D before with a low grade fever. I'd give Tylenol and keep an eye on it. Also their heart rates are just higher in general so don't freak too much- that happened to me to
