First of all; does anyone else have to pee constantly the week before their period? I pee a lot in general, but the week before, I have to pee about every 20 minutes. Once I get my period it stops.
My second question is my actual question; every few periods my right side hurts when it starts. It hurts low and is an ache, not sharp pain, but uncomfortable enough to make it hurt. And it will last until my period is in full swing. Do any of you get this? Or is this something to call my gynecologist about? ETA: It's not cramps, at least, not traditional. It's what you'd think would happen with ovulation pain - a certain side and an ache in a localized area. Usually my normal cramps are low and span across, from side to side.
I know I can Google this, but it just pulls up 13-15 year olds asking "lyke OMG am I preggers?!" Idiots.

You've just described what the week before my period is like as well. I get a little localized ache now and then near one of my ovaries, but my OB/GYN said it wasn't a big deal. I also have to pee all the time the few days before.
Have you ever been checked for endometriosis, an ovarian cyst, or fibroids? At various times these have affected my cycles and caused pain and/or discomfort.

I was checked back in March. I have a tentative diagnosis of endometriosis but on an ultrasound they didn't find any cysts.
*A note on the peeing; every 20 minutes is a bit much, it's what it feels like - when I'm trying to sleep or not doing anything (like watching tv on the couch), I get to thinking about "do I have to pee?" and end up having to get up a bunch. When my mind is focused on something else, it isn't that often, but it IS a lot more than during other times in my cycle and once I start spotting/get my period, it stops and I can go back to not having to go for a few hours. I don't really drink any more or less.
This happens to me!! My doctor (family doctor) looked at me like I was nuts when I told him. It happened to me when I was on the pill, and when I was off. TMI: But not only do I pee more often before my period, I poop way more often before my period too. This localized pain happened to me like 6 weeks ago (while I was pregnant) and I was like wtf? I can't be ovulating (that's what I thought it was) and my OBGYN said it is probably just that bowels & bladder are a little irritated during this time. She said it is normal for your body to want to clean itself out before you period, just like it does for some women before giving birth.
