How many people have Monday off? Any fun plans?
I do have a long weekend, but not many big plans.
Tonight we had planned to go to a baseball game but it is hot as hell here today (temp is over 100 without heat index). So we're going out for a semi-nice dinner and catching up on the DVR.
Tomorrow I have a hair cut and some grading to do at the coffee shop. Nothing super exciting.
Sunday we hope to go to another local wine festival that is bigger and better than the one last weekend.
Monday: My parents are coming into town to drop off stuff for our garage sale next weekend, so I will hang out with them a little.
It's my birthday tomorrow! Woot! Having a joint party for me, DS and my brother who was born on the same day as me. Sunday I get sworn into my new promotion *twirls*
I am off until Tuesday night. Having addy's birthday pool party tomorrow afternoon then our adult friends are staying for football/cookout/more swimming and I am sure they will be drinking. Cleaning and getting the house ready tonight. Then hopefully lots of naps for the rest of the weekend.

"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
Tonight we are going to "town night out" (they close down the central street, which is a block long, and everyone comes out to chat, eat and listen to a band). Sunday, DD is "marching" in the labor day parade with her preschool. The parade ends at the town park for a free concert.
I have off through Tuesday!!! H works tomorrow and Tuesday, and it's supposed to rain Sunday and Monday, but I want us to do something over this weekend. Maybe museums, or the zoo if it isn't too rainy.
But no work until Wednesday! I am so ready for this break.

Going to catch up on some office work tomorrow. H and I are spending Sunday in Atlanta for a Nascar race (breaking out my redneck). I'm just looking forward to getting away for a day.

Opening weekend at Apple Hill Saturday, apple picking and hopefully pies. Sunday we are doing a family 5k for H's 35th. Tide pools and seal watching Monday at the beach. The boys are stoked.

It's a very all-american-small-town-fun weekend.
I think my small town has that, or they already had it? It's cute though. It'd just be my excuse to stop by the animal rescue booth area we have in town or pop by there in general. Once I find a studio apartment I'm going to need a furbaby to keep me safe, though I'm sure kittens aren't great guard animals.
It's supposed to rain on and off all weekend which sucks for all the NewYork & north NJ people who spent $800 on a hole in the wall motel or $3-4,000 on a house rental for LDW. Living in NJ my whole like has left me with no pity for out of towners who use and abuse the shore towns. I hope that the little work that got done can help rebuild, because a lot of it is still a mess. Especially my hometown where Jimmy Carter & his wife were the other day doing a habitat for humanity. Also, look for extreme home makeover to do something about my old hometown too. Went from unknown 1mile town to where "that house" stands on the cover of Time magazine.
