Overnight someone took the plates off DH's car. It takes 10 days to get new ones, apparently, so DH will be riding the bus next week. Ugh, stupid neighbourhood. We live in a nice area, not sure why all this crime. Some of you might remember this same car was broken into last year, and also our house was burgled back in March.
Besides that though, it's Fathers' Day in Australia. We took DH to brunch and he got a new shirt (from the kids, haha) and DS1 and I made his fav. Oreo cake. So that was positive!
So what do they use stolen plates for? To put on a stolen car? A police is coming over this arvo to take a report. DS1 is excited, he loves police. LOL.

Oh no that sucks! Yeah I would imagine to use on a stolen car or some kids were bored. My college boyfriend would steal plates when he was drunk. He had quite the selection.

That sucks! I was wondering how things went after the burglary. Your DH is a better citizen than mine because he would just drive plate less. Actually when we first bought our car the dealer mixed up the plates and I got pulled over. It nearly turned into me getting arrested but thankfully didn't.

Happy Father's Day to Mr.Starbound!
Yeah, he thought he might do that.. but it's a hefty fine here. Plus so many fewer citizens to hide amongst, lol.
DH's work building is also right next to a police station, funnily enough.

Thanks guys:) they found the plates last night.. Well they didn't recover them, but they were used in a petrol station drive off. Anyway DH was allowed to get new plates right away as those ones were used in a criminal act and now we can't use the same number.
The funny part is the new plates say "ale" which is funny because I am seriously needing a drink or 2 after this day.!

How are Aussie plate numbers set up? Here there's the abbreviation for the city, then a hodgepodge of letters and numbers. We almost went for "Poo" in ours, but decided on XX-BB-9906 (XX is for our town that is obvs. not XX, BB for me and DH and 9906 is our anniversary). I still think poo might have been better.

LOL!! poo plates
It's a crapshoot here. You get whatever comes up. It's a letter, 3 numbers, then 3 letters. We once had "ZED" and of course we couldn't help ourselves with the hilarious "Zed's dead, baby, Zed's dead" references.
