Based on some posts here, it sounds like there are some apps where you can track where someone else is on a run/ride, assuming the person has his phone with him and gives you permission. Is that right? Can you point me to these apps?
I've started using Glympse and so far it's pretty good.
RoadID just came out with their version as well.
I'm using Glympse, too, for my long runs, now that I'm out over an hour. DH says it's easy to look at. I plan to use it during my half so he knows where to find me.
You can like RunMeter to twitter. It will tweet when you start a run, and it includes a map to your run.
There's also Find Friends. It lets people who you allow see where you are. It doesn't exactly track real-time speeds, but it's still good for seeing where someone generally is. You can turn the location services on and off depending on what you want at a particular time.
Right now I'm just using Find my Friends. DH doesn't like that it can take awhile to update though. I'm considering the RoadID since someone said that it will send an alert if you don't move for 5 minutes. I'd also love something that would send an alert if I suddenly start moving 20+mph (like got kidnapped, picked up by ambulance).
