As we left Lake George, DH says to me, "Why would you tell people this course was flat?" I guess I forgot! But, I am glad that there weren't a lot of loooong climbs and that there were some places to really move.
Sorry I missed you, but I think I saw you before the start. Were you in the heat with the yellow caps? Pink goggles?
Actually I didn't think the bike loop was bad at all. Not necessarily flat, kind of rolling, but no hills that I felt were particularly noteworthy. It was my fastest average speed on the bike leg of a tri ever - 17.3 mph - so I was pleased with that. The only part I wasn't a fan of was on the bike path, where guys in aero helmets sailed by me doing 5-10 mph faster. Normally that doesn't bother me (happens a lot, because I swim up into the guys' heat and then get passed by them on the bike) but in the close quarters of the bike path it was a little nerve wracking.
The run was really rough for me though. The hills were more significant than I anticipated, and my hip was bothering me. Plus, my Garmin died last week, and I didn't have a watch or a way to gauge distance. It was so frustrating that in the run loop, all the uphill was in the first 2 miles, with no mile marker until you're right around the highest elevation for the whole loop. A "1 mile" (and "4 mile") would've been so nice to see. Wouldn't have bothered me if I had a Garmin, but I didn't.
And yes, that probably was me. Yellow cap, hot pink goggle strap/gaskets w/ dark lenses. BTC kit. Were you also in my heat? I can't remember what ages it was.
Ha - I was looking for you to pass me on the bike but I never saw you.
No wonder I never saw the 4 mile sign. I felt badly for all those people, especially when I saw all the same cars on my 2nd loop that I'd seen on my first loop.

I just compared our results. I must have passed you on the run. You're way too fast in the water for me to catch you in only 24 miles! My swim was a little slow, but I wasn't wearing a wetsuit, so who knows.
