I've been doing spin for 2 years and I think it's time to get a pair. I am also looking to start riding outdoors, so if they can double that's great. I don't want to spend a ton, but I want a good pair that will last a long time and be comfortable. Any ways to save would be great - I don't really care what they look like. Thanks!
There are no such thing as spin shoes. They are called cycling shoes. I have plenty of advice in the link below about buying them. They are like running shoes. What works for me might not work for you. I recommend going to a bike shop or two and trying them on. You wouldn't buy your first pair of running shoes online. KWIM?
I have a nice pair of Shimano cycling shoes that I bought several years ago when I was a member of my local gym. They made a huge difference in my comfort and foot positioning. I have since gone back to just running and a local Boot Camp program. They are size 7.5 and hardly worn if you're interested. This is what they look like:
