I'm about to lose it and switch insurance companies!

The pipe in our kitchen burst on the 15th of August! Our kitchen is still in disarray and is utterly unusable. We still don't have cabinets, an oven, a dishwasher, a sink, or running water in our kitchen, and it is completely unsafe. Tile is ripped up, nails and staples are jutting out from the framing of the cabinets, and we have insulation and drywall completely exposed.

The insurance guy hasn't gotten us our paper work yet. Dh called last Monday and the guy said he would have it by the end of the week. Nothing. Then dh called just this past Wednesday and the guy said he would have it by this past Friday. Nothing! Two weeks Nd our adjuster hasn't done anything. We can't even get other quotes or estimates yet because the other companies need the paperwork from insurance first.

Manwhile we are eating out like crazy and washing dishes in the downstairs shower and sink in the bathroom, which leaves the only bathroom downstairs inoperable for its intended purpose. 

I am so over this.

I'm sorry. Is it an independent insurance agent or can you call his supervisor or corporate to complain? That's really unacceptable.

that sucks. We had a horrible flood (upstairs bathroom through the kitchen ceiling) Nov 30 and we were under construction until close to April. It sucked.

I hope they get you the paperwork soon. For us, they came out within a week but then it was almost a month before we got it (because of the holidays, etc)

It is a large company, so I think dh is going to go to his supervisor if he blows us off one more time. He already gave us a verbal estimate; it is just the paperwork we are waiting for. Two weeks ago yesterday is when he gave us the verbal estimate and looked at our house.

Oh, that really sucks! How stressful. I hope you get better results from management.
