I've only ever done morning races. So I ate a bagel for breakfast. But Wednesday, I have a 7pm race so I'll have to eat more than that.
I'm thinking no cheese. I've also heard protien actually isn't so great, but, I don't know how much truth is there. I'll hydrate, but only my usual so I don't have to pee. That's about 90oz.

I'd have a late lunch/early dinner of pasta, then grab a banana shortly before the face. I don't know I that's what you're supposed to do, but it works for me.

5k is an awesome distance!! What about some pasta with a simple sauce, or butter and Parmesan? I'd eat it like an hour and a half before so you're not overly full, but the carbs, fat, and protein can help sustain you after being awake all day and then running.
Or peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a banana. I hope you rock the race, dixee! 90 ozs sounds fantastic.
And I would probably eat your normal diet for the day except not a huge dinner right before. I'd probably snack before hand (peanut butter crackers and a banana) and eat dinner afterwards. Good luck!

Exactly this. Well, now I'd eat sunbutter or skip, but same idea.
