So far, so good. But I'm still on my first cup of coffee. I managed to cover most of the bruising on my eye with make up, and then styled my bangs to sort of sweep over that eye to provide additional camouflage...
The weekend was wonderful, took DS to the beach. It was the first time he'd seen the ocean, and after a brief hesitation, he dove right in!
All that's getting me out of a funk is that I have new clothes to wear and I'm excited.
These cats are driving me nuts. Introductions are not going well and I keep wondering WTF I was thinking because 2 cats keep me much busier than one. But I love them both.

I thought this about three cats. Luckily, it was only temporary. Hopefully they work out their differences.

I had a great weekend. My football game blew, but I had a lovely brunch, a beautiful hike, lots of frozen treats, and I went to the boardwalk and saw the freak show, which was really fun. It has been on my list for years.
Had a really, really nice long weekend. Friday, we (meaning bf) made ribs for the first time for me and his dad and stepmom. It was his first time and he was all stressed because the coals weren't heating properly, the dog was running around in between his legs while he was trying to get the temp hotter, etc. I have to laugh because they turned out amazing...but he has this "the food I make for gault and fam has to be PERFECT every time or else the night is ruined" thing. It's amusing. He apologized afterwards for not paying enough attention to me, which is very very sweet...but dude, I know how you roll. No biggie.
Saturday we went garage sale-ing and got a few really good deals, watched a movie with his bff and bff's gf, went to another dinner with his folks, and watched UFC fights with some friends.
Sunday I slept in (yeehaw) and we went to the mystery dinner theater. It was FUN!
Monday, he met my bff and her family and we went to the zoo and walked around a lot. There were a shitton of families there, holy crap. And I was holding my friend's 7-month-old and may have been mistaken for his mom a few times.

What happened to your eye?
I posted about it in the weekend whines, I think. DS was taking a bath and playing with the back scrubber brush while I was wiping up a water mess on the floor. He swung it around and cracked me in the face with it, right on my eyebrow. It was a complete accident, and he felt awful (he even kissed it), but now I look like I picked a fight with somebody. The wonder that is gravity has brought the bruising down closer to my actual eye, so it's more visible than I'd initially hoped, but the swelling is not as bad as I thought it would be. No one has mentioned it yet, but I'm usually left alone on the first working day of the week so I can get payroll done.
