Well, most of it. Our stupid pool is 33.33 yards long (dumb, right?) so if I'd have done it as written without making some weird adjustments, I'd have wound up doing 8400 yards instead of the prescribed 6300.
I did: 500 yard swim (build) 300 yard kick 150 yard pull 4 x 125 (kick, drill swim) 2 x 100 / 1 x 200 2 x 150 / 1 x 300 2 x 200 / 1 x 400 2 x 150 / 1 x 300 2 x 100 / 1 x 200 200 easy 200 pull
This looks like 4600-ish, but calculated out to 6200 yards in our goofy pool. I did the 2x's at moderate pace and the 1x's at as much of a sprint as I could maintain for that distance.
It kicked my ass. That second 1 x 300 was where I started gasping for air at every breath and wondering if I was going to die or if my arms were going to fall off first. LOL I highly recommend the workout, though. It was easy to do (mentally) and went by fast, even though it took me 2 hours. I would even wager into the relatively "fun" category.
A related confession: There's a girl at the gym who annoys me (a lot) - she's just really self-involved. For example, she'll come in 10 minutes late to a spin class wearing her phone/headphones, take a bike right in front, and spend the entire class either texting or changing out the music playing in her ears (so her phone is lit up constantly), then leave 10 minutes early. It's just ... inconsiderate in all possible ways. ANYHOW, she came out to the pool while I was doing this workout and got in to do some laps while I was probably about 3000 yards in. I took great satisfaction in lapping her a few times, even though we weren't really racing. Or at least she wasn't. LOL I'm not normally the type to be competitive during a regular workout, but she just burns my biscuits and I needed something to feel smug about.
I'm exhausted just reading about it. Nice job! LOL at your confession. I'd race her on the treadmill too
You'd win. She's faster than me on the treadmill, but just about everyone in the world is. I think she runs with the TM set to about 8 min/mile, so I don't think you'd struggle with this race at all. LOL
