Have you tried starting and stopping the timer on the Garmin to create a "new" running time? This usually gets everything uploaded for me.
i did another run today hoping a new run would do the trick but nope. I have uploaded before with no problem and haven't changed anything on my computer so i have no idea what is going on. annoyed!

DH suggested the same thing. It does charge and it recognizes the device but I get a status bar that just sits there and doesn't actually upload anything. I did a hard reset via Garmin support, which sucks bc i lost all my stuff on there but i hope that works.

I've been having a lot of problems with Garmin Connect in IE. I can't log on in that, but can in Chrome. Only problem is the create a course function doesn't work in Chrome, which I use all the time. I'm still waiting to hear back from tech support.

After I initially plugged in the USB, it worked for a mili-second and then my computer couldn't find the USB stick the rest of the night. It was literally the first time I plugged in the USB since I purchased my Garmin in May.
I have troubles with Garmin Connect as well. I still have some activities that are in my Garmin (I can see them in the history on the watch) but they will not upload to Garmin Connect. I use Chrome on a Windows 8 computer. I usually use Chrome in Windows 8 mode but Garmin Connect makes me relaunch my Chrome window in desktop mode, which is annoying.
