I'm flying from Melbourne to Quebec through Vancouver, without a stop in the US first. Is there anything I need to know about customs/immigration in Vancouver? I've been through Canadian customs/immigration in Montreal and Quebec, and I'm sure the basic process is similar in Vancouver, but I was just wondering if there are any tricks or tips unique to Vancouver.
I've flown through Vancouver a few times and I've never had a problem there. The lines have always been short and the people are really nice and friendly.
If you have a layover there for a while the international terminal is pretty decent with lots of food choices.
Since you aren't flying into the US through YVR you don't need to worry about duty free liquids. Once I had to throw out 2 fifths of alcohol purchased at duty free because we had to clear US customs at YVR before continuing on to Seattle.
