So, my first tri is this weekend. It's a super sprint 200 meter swim, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run. I'm used to doing much longer runs and rides (I do duathlons normally), but I'm chickening out on the swim part. That being said, we did a practice tri the other day and I'm wondering if I need to rethink my outfit. I wore my bathing suit with a sports bra, and in T1 I pulled bike shorts on. That was fine for the bike. However, (sorry TMI!) I felt really top heavy during the run. I don't know if it was the extra water in the bra or what, but it was crazy.
Should I just wear the swimsuit top and then pull on a tighter tank with built in bra in T1? I don't really want to shop because I don't have time and I'm not sure I want to do any more triathlons after this. Thoughts?
Other thoughts for a successful race? I felt really good in both transitions, especially since it's my first time with the wetsuit.

Have fun! I did a 225-yard swim, 8 mile bike and 2 mile run this summer, and it was so fun. It really will be over before you know it. I wore a tri suit, but my sister wore her sports bra under her suit and pulled bike shorts on in T1. She did fine. Pulling on both shorts and a tight tank is going to be difficult when you are wet (some of those tanks I can barely get on when I'm dry). My philosophy is to do whatever makes you the most comfortable (unless you think you are going to win, then do whatever is fastest), so if you'll be most comfortable wearing a tank, do that. Good luck! I hope it is a good experience.
Thanks! I'm thinking I can just suck it up since it's such a short distance. I think a regular bra would have held onto less water! lol But getting a tank on after a swim sounds terrible.
