Nothing tonight. I might dye my hair. Super exciting, I know. But very necessary.
Tomorrow I'm driving an hour and a half for my nephews' birthday party. They are 5 & 6. DS is really excited to spend the day with his cousins!
stbx asked last night if he was going to get DS this weekend too. When I told him I wasn't sure how that was going to work because of the party, he asked if he could come. Uh, no thanks. Let's make an already awkward party for me MORE awkward... That being said, I have about 2 pages of paperwork left to fill out before I can give the stuff to my lawyer, and Saturday night would be a good time to get that done, so I might consider letting DS stay with his dad that night. I don't know...
I'm a little bit mad at myself for not just getting this stuff done, I was really hoping to have it turned in this week but I just didn't make it happen. UGH!

Yeah, I told him no. He was a little shocked, and asked why. I don't understand why he doesn't get it! Really, I don't want to ride in a car with him for 3 hours in uncomfortable silence, to spend an already uncomfortable day with him at my nephews' party... How in the hell does this sound like a good idea??
I was more than a little surprised that he asked. It took me a second to compose myself as I said "no" without laughing at his craziness.

You are a better woman than I. I can only imagine the look I would have on my face.
If he has the habit of inviting himself to things, you know you don't have to give him so much detail. You can just say, It's not going to work out this weekend, I've made plans, or some variation. Rinse and repeat. You know the drill.

Yes, I do need to work on giving him less information. I had already told him about the birthday party a couple of weeks ago.
If we get back into town early enough I might let him have DS saturday night. But I don't know. I told him we'd have to see how it goes, and left it at that.
I just got back from my OB/GYN appointment. He took a lot of blood to do some panels on me, but...we have the green light to TTC. I also recorded my lowest-ever weight since college. No, I won't be telling you what that is.
Tonight I'm getting my hair highlighted and then passing out in front of the TV.
Tomorrow I'm going to the gym at some point - I want to time it so I'm doing cardio during a game and weights during halftime. But not a game I particularly care about. What time is the UGA/USC game Muddled? Other than the Gator game, that's the only one I care about. The rest of the day I'll spend on the couch with my laptop finalizing details and sending emails.
Sunday I'm packing up wedding shit, wrapping gifts, and writing toasts, then passing out in front of the TV.
The Gators play Miami in Miami. At noon. What dumbass scheduled that? Our mediocre QB is still mediocre. I'll aim to get to the gym between the two games then.
One SEC loss doesn't end a season, especially when you're in the East.
Noon? WTF. TV schedules or they are trying to minimize tailgate time (like that ever works!). I know nothing about Miami this year. Good luck!
If our offense makes the same stupid mistakes we did last week, we are in for it. They have to be on their game in order to overcome the weak defense. Murray seemed really distracted last week. Luckily, it's a home game, so maybe that will give us a boost.
Boo to starries' douchey stbxh and to mel injuring herself.
Tomorrow I'm going to an open house for a dance studio that has a dance company attached to try out a free class there. Then tomorrow night I'm going to see Blue Man Group with my parents. Sunday evening I'm going to a belated birthday dinner with a friend. It's going to be a fun weekend.
I'm trying to get out of working out by telling H I need to go to Target tonight to get A a new life preserver if he plans on taking the boat out tomorrow. He's all, "I'll go get it right now, and then I'll pick up A, and then we can still work out!"
H, STOP trying to be helpful! There is an ottoman at Target that was going to fall into my cart.

I love that football is starting again! My team is BYU and their offense is looking so much better than last year. We lost the Virginia game in the last 4 minutes. Waahhh...
I'm getting my hair done right now and I needed it so badly.

Boyfriend would find a way to alter physics if it prevented me from going to Target.

Oh em gee. I'm at karate with my brother and they're using pool noodles to practice blocking. A maybe 5 year old girl is running around with it between her legs and she's rubbing it back and forth and poking the other kids. I tried really hard not to die laughing. Giant pool noodle penis.
Oh, I also am excited that football is starting. But not for college football, I don't care since my school didn't have a team (nice change after HS). I'm excited for the NFL.
I'm also excited because hockey starts next month!

I'm trying to decide if I should go to the insta care about my thumb. I have self diagnosed with a thumb sprain but I'm apparently supposed to have a brace for it. It hurts a lot, I couldn't turn my car key on yesterday. But a thumb sprain sounds so pathetic! I don't want to wear a brace either. How can I sew in a thumb brace?!?

As someone recovering from tendonitis in my thumb, you learn to use all your other fingers and the rest of your hand to make up for not having a thumb accessible. I do think it would be good for you to get checked out. Plus you'll need ice, rest, & anti-inflammatories to help the sprain heal.
This weekend is not off to a good start. FI left to take Flapjack to the vet (nail trim) and our older dog worked herself into such a tizzy that her eyes rolled back in her head and bulged out. It was disturbing. I thought for sure she was having a seizure and called FI for him to come home. As soon as she heard the garage door open, she snapped out of it. So, though I don't want to, she will be going on Xanax. Her anxiety in certain situations is unmanageable. I had no idea she was so attached to Flapjack. The vet checked her out and said she's fine neurologically.
The Gators are doing a fine job of beating themselves today. I'm embarrassed for them.
My weekend has been pretty good so far. I saw the red tide bioluminescing last night and then today I went to a dance class and bought a 16-class package for the price of 8 classes. I may even have started making new friends in the process; one complimented me on my spotting and another wanted to make sure I was going to be coming back also. So that felt good!
The not-so-good is that I let the cats be around one another this morning and Leo clearly went after Sofia a couple times. She also does a lot of hiding and hissing before he finds her, so clearly there's still a lot of work to do.

Oh man bowies, we used to have to give my old doggie some Valium during thunderstorms or fireworks. He would react similarly.
I'm jealous of your dance classes tiramisu, I've been thinking about getting back into dance for old people but the classes are all so expensice!
My weekend has been pretty lazy so far. I hope it continues. I need to go to the thrift store soon and get some randome clothes to alter for my alterations class.
captainmel how is your thumb? Also, keep looking for dance studios and dance companies in your area. You might end up finding a deal like I did. It was complete luck. There was another studio I wanted to attend, but I discovered yesterday that they just closed. I looked for similar studios and found this place, including the listing on their website about free classes today.
You could also look into dance classes at a community college. Those would probably be less expensive, by a lot.

tiramisu. My thumb is bad, I am going to the instacare tomorrow.
I was getting ready to go today and the most insane rainstorm hit my parents house. They're on vacation and there were mandatory evacuations due to severe flooding. The street in front of my parents house is solid mud and it missed their house by a few feet. Others were less lucky and there are a lot of flooded homes. I spent all day moving sandbags, digging trenches and driving truck fulls of sand bags to the homes in need.
