I'm hoping that as the school year goes on I'll be able to volunteer in the class room sometimes, even if that means taking part of a day or a day off.
is this real life? i don't understand how not being able to pick your child up in the middle of the day whenever you feel like it is sad? aren't preschools structured so that if you went in the middle of the day you'd find them napping? is my heart dead?
Yes, it's real life. Very much.
Says the working mom who had FT child care/preschool for years. Even though she had a schedule that I worked around, it was always flexible to our needs. It's quite a shock to loose that in lieu of a building I don't have an passcode and a room I am not allowed to visit.
DS is just in full time preschool and I feel the same way. There are so many damn rules! I can't just grab him for an appt whenever I want! When he was with his sitter or daycare, I regularly took him for haircuts, the dentist, Dr appts whenever I felt like. Now I don't want to disrupt the whole class.
