I finish my masters in December and I've been thinking for a while that this is something I'd like to on a part time basis. Well, low and behold, just two hours ago an adjunct job in the field I'd be qualified for popped up (would be starting in the spring semester).
Would I even be considered since my degree with have JUST been completed?
Is there a resouce for making my resume, cv, etc look good (right now it's *nothing* to do with teaching)?

I definitely enjoy being a adjunct! I had no teaching experience when I started and still feel like I'm flying by the seat of my pants, but it's really fun.
I think that if you have some professors to serve as references, you'll have a great shot. Did you TA at all? Tutor? If so, list those qualifications.
I just googled CVs to come up with a template. Good luck!

I do! I was hired with a masters and only two semesters of TA experience. I lectured twice in my life before taking my own class on. And here I am, seven years later, figuring out how to teach as I go

I'm thinking of applying to teach a domestic violence class in the Spring. I'm not sure I will get hired but I would like to do something new. Either that or a grief and loss class.

Do you teach at multiple schools?
They limit the number of courses adjuncts can teach at my college. I'd have to teach at another school to make that much.

Yes, I teach at the large university in town where I got my PhD many years ago (just one class in the spring and fall....occasionally I do a summer class) and then I teach in an online MBA program at a university where I used to teach in the classroom about 20 years ago. The online goes by half semester and I sometimes teach multiple classes each half semester. In reality, if I think about it I probably make $6-8K at the larger state university and 10-12K at the online deal. I really enjoy it. When my boys were little it was harder but now its a breeze

Thanks. I currently teach 8 week online courses, like you. I've been contemplating picking up some traditional courses, but haven't agreed yet.
