Anything? Nasal strips? Murder?
This is really not H's fault but I am having a hell of a time staying asleep lately. I used to struggle to fall asleep if he was snoring, but once I was out, I was out. This is no longer the case. My current strategy of staying up all night and sleeping when he goes to work isn't a great long-term solution.
He's not overweight and I don't know if he has any nose-shape issues. I will accept any crazy old-wives tale advice. Or tell me that this is a pregnancy issue and someday I will be able to sleep through noise again.
Mine had his tonsils, uvula, adenoids and part of his soft palate removed:( He snored like some wild beastly train coming off of the tracks. It's 90% better. Good luck! I used to sleep on the sofa a lot.
Holy shit!! I bet both of you are much more comfortable now. Poor guy.
I will suggest this. "Hey, maybe let's take out most of your mouth."

It used to be much better on his side but the last couple of weeks it's just happening as soon as he falls asleep, regardless of position. I tried headphones and Pandora 90's pop last night which helped me fall asleep until the damn headphones pinched my ear when I rolled over, and then THAT woke me up. SONOFABITCH.
I may have to try the Tylenol PM again. I used to have no luck with it but I'm so fucking tired that maybe it will be enough to push me over the edge this time.
I am going to encourage him to look into it. Now that I think about it, he's been complaining a lot lately about being congested and not being able to smell anything, I'm guessing there is something fucked up in there.

The major failing of my house as it's currently furnished is that I have Goldilocks furniture. The living room couch is too squishy, the den couch is too firm, and the guest room bed is really a cheap futon (we don't have a lot of guests). Our bed is awesome. Even if we take turns somebody is going to have back pain.

Lol, he had a sleep study and had horrible sleep apnea. He had 'gargantuan' tonsils per the docs, so that's what they recommended. He still has sleep apnea. He's not overweight, it's like genetic. His dad and brothers all have it:( It was a painful recovery for him but it did help. Maybe your H should get a sleep study. For a lot of people, they just need a CPAP. H had one and I felt like I was sharing a bed with darth vadar.
Literally LOL. Sorry, my kid is obsessed with SW so for the first time, I get this joke.

This is the only thing that has helped. H refuses a sleep study, I have given in for now because this helps so much!
Has your H ever been tested for allergies? As part of a comprehensive work up, we learned H is allergic to our dogs (and other environmental triggers. ) Without medications, he snores and hacks all night. As soon as he takes it, It's like night and day. Here's another random, google "silent reflux"

Does he have sleep apnea? That was why my H snored so much and loudly. I used to use eat plugs before he got a machine. One of us slept on the couch a lot too.
My H is a mild snorer, mostly due to allergies and congestion. He wears nasal strips which help a little, and uses saline spray before bed. If he snores at night I try to nudge him lightly so he'll move positions and stop snoring. Usually he does this without even waking up.
My dad, on the other hand, snores like a freight train. Or he did. It got a lot better when he lost 20 pounds. He also did a sleep study and they discovered apnea so bad that they woke him up during the study because they were so concerned, and scared to continue with the test. He stopped breathing several times a minute. So now he's on CPAP, and he said it has literally changed his life. It probably also SAVED his life, and possibly even saved my parents' marriage.
H did a sleep study. They told him he had sleep apnea and gave him a CPAP. He didn't like it at first, but he said it was better once he got used to it.
Good luck, cori! Hope you both can get better sleep soon.
