All this week Audrey has started screaming in her sleep at 6:30 every morning. She screams for a 10-15 seconds, silence for about .5-1 min, repeat. This goes on for about 15 minutes. Then she just stops. She's asleep through this.
Logan often screams around 5am. Sometimes it's just for a second or two, and sometimes it lasts closer to a minute. I think he wakes up, but I'm not sure since we don't have video.
I find it interesting that everyone says it's right around 5 am(or on the dot)
According to the sleep experts 5am is when the lighter REM sleep period ends, they have a brief wakeful phase (not all kids) and then they have an hour or 2 of deep sleep phase.
Oh and that the deepest time of sleep is bedtime 7pm or 8pm until midnight. No dreams, deep sleep. Then REM sleep until 5am. I find this sleep stuff fascinating!
Yeah but they're not all going to bed at the exact same time, or at the same time every day. But the waking up and crying out is always at 5 am!
Well the theory is that they actually have this pattern whether you put them to bed at 7-8pm or not. That the deepest sleep is until midnight and the later you put then to bed, the less of this deep sleep they get.

But I am a sleep nazi so I agree with this.
Is there an explanation for how it is always midnight/5am etc? I think this is so weird! And what if you work nights and sleep during the day?

Yeah, and wouldn't it change with daylight savings? I think A is on a 1:00am/6:00am schedule. She started talking in her sleep around 1:00 last night and screams at 6:00.
