So I was "chastised" for bringing too much soft food for Joshua now that he has moved to the toddler room (decided when we were on vacation and moved with no transition period the Tuesday after Labor Day-don't even get me started on that!) Anyways, I need to send more steamed veggies, chopped up fruit, etc. Question- for carrots, cucumbers, the like, do you dice up still or send "sticks"? I have no idea about this b/c he refuses everything "real" at home, but he will snarf down pouches all the time!
Thanks in advance, I'm really stressing about the whole thing (and I know, it's SUCH a 1st world problem, right?)
For carrots you can buy the shredded carrots for salads to save time. Cutting cucumbers long ways also helps. Maybe bell pepper too. Brady loves corn on the cob would you be comfortable sending that?

We recently discovered that G loves corn on the cob too. She also sometimes eats cucumber slices at daycare...but I haven't tried them at home. I wouldn't give raw carrot sticks nor apples since I'm paranoid about choking but she loves slices of nectarines and pears, plus I'll give her half a plum (so I can remove the pit). And berries are great too.

I was thinking about corn- I think he would love it on the cob. As for the carrots- I would steam them but not too much, but I guess I'll cut them into small pieces. They want him to have food he can bite and chew more than what I have sent.
Does it have to be fruits and veggies? I know those are healthy choices, but G also likes ritz crackers and dry cheerios. And loves goldfish...sigh .
Oh man, does he love those carbs!!! He gets some type of cracker or cheerio for snacks there, twice a day- that's why I'm somewhat reluctant to give him more. he's like his mama- saltaholic to the core!
Carrot shreds like op mentioned. Also, apple shreds! We do strawberries cut into slices, halved grapes, pears ( softer than apples) kiwi, banana, watermelon when it was in season, black beans, cheese shreds, brown rice, carrot chips (homemade), banana chips and raisins or prunes

Aren't fruits and veggies carbs too? Though they also have fiber, vitamins, etc.
If it doesn't have to be hard, then maybe a cheese stick to go with his crackers? He could practice biting pieces off of that.
We've been pushing fats and proteins at home since G's daycare now only serves vegetarian food and her pedi was a little concerned about her weight gain slowing down. She won't touch beef, pork, or non-nugget shaped chicken, but loves fish, the weirdo. I wouldn't eat seafood until I met DH at 19!

Ari LOVES cucs. He also like zucchini and summer squash. I cut them in long thin strips. He is also currently obsessed with cherry tomatoes. I cut them in fourths.

Sweet girl after my heart! My kid's a beef loving embarrassment to his pescatarian mom.
Yum, beef! DH might inadvertently make G into a vegetarian or pescatarian -- he was telling her the other day that his hamburger was Ferdinand, from the story Ferdinand the Bull that she loves.
Luke can't eat school food (allergies) so I send his whole lunch. He loves babybels (the round red cheeses in the wax), chicken nuggets, tofu, grapes (I cut in 1/3), raisins, dried fruit from costco (they have a box with apple slices, banana/strawberries that are freeze dried), berries, watermelon, cucumbers, frozen peas (I just microwave), frozen mixed veggies (carrots, peas, green beans, corn I think- it's the bag from TJs), cold noodles (a little butter after they are cooked), mac and cheese
