I've had three missed calls from the same Portland area number in the last few days, and I got a call from the same number today, but actually answered this time. There was a man on the phone saying he was *girl's name I can't remember*'s dad and he was looking for her mom. I told him I wasn't her mom and he asked what my name was. When I told him it's Jessica, he asked if I knew the girl's mom, because my number was the number that the mom wrote down for the daughter, to get a hold of her. I told him, sorry, that I didn't know what he was talking about. He told me sorry for bothering me, and disappointment just dripped from his voice. I'm going to guess, since it was dad calling, that the daughter is likely a child. I told him I was sorry I couldn't help him, and I genuinely meant it. Who does that? Who gives the wrong number to their child? Maybe it was an accident, but the evident disappointment in the man's voice makes me feel like that is unlikely.
