We did 3 day, and L just went back to pullups at night time. She doesn't wake up to go pee, and 1/2 the time won't notice she's gone until she's sleeping in a warm pee bed for a bit.
i think we kept her in diapers at naptime for a bit as a precaution, but didn't need them.
We're still rocking night time pull ups. OMG she sleeps like a rock at night and she's always been a heavy night pee-er. Never in her life has she woken up dry. I'm hoping to get rid of pull ups this year, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes to both. When I got about a months worth of dry diapers for each, I ditched the pull ups. Naptime was a pretty quick switch. Nighttime took longer.

One more question
In the tips I've read it says to keep a little toilet in the car for when you go out if the 3 days are a success. Um, what do you do with the stuff if they actually use the toilet in the car?
We followed the 3 Day Method to the letter, and ditched all the diapers/never used Pull-Ups. We had just a couple night time accidents, but I had layered her bed with sheets & puppy pads in between to make it easier to take care of it in the middle of the night.
She'd never woken up with a dry diaper before that, but she somehow had few issues when we ditched them for all sleeping.

I never did that, but we're never in the car for long. I always just made sure he went right before we got in the car. To me that's more practical. I assume you're supposed to dump it in weeds or whatever on the side of the road.
ETA- BTW, good luck! The three-day method was a huge success for ds. He essentially PTed in one day at 27 mos. It was amazing.
I didn't with DD1 and haven't started potty training with DD2 yet.
What is the 3 day method?
With DD1 I just stayed home for a few days and put undies on her. Stickers/M&M's were given for attempts at first and then just for actual potty. I was lucky, it clicked and we were diaper free.
It was so easy with DD1 I am afraid to try with DD2 because, what if it isn't easy?!?!
We pt'd at 3 y.o. unexpectedly due to a bad diaper rash. I wasn't sure he was ready, and since we had a 3 week old at home wasn't really looking to do it at that point. Within 2 days he was pee trained, and it took two more weeks for him to be poop trained. What surprised me was that he started staying dry during naps and overnights. He had always been a heavy wetter, so I thought he was a ways off from that. We kept him in diapers for naps for about two or three more weeks, and then for overnight for another month or so, just to be safe and save on laundry! He wakes us up overnight to go pee about twice a week, and maybe has an accident in bed once every two or three weeks now. We didn't leave a potty in the car, just had him go before we left someplace. We're also not in the car for long, though.
We didn't use pull ups at all, but Will was a week shy of 4 when we potty trained him. I think younger kids may need them, but we went cold turkey to regular underwear. In the year that he's been PTed, we've had *maybe* four overnight accidents, and that's because we didn't cut liquids off early enough in the evening.
