For potty training.
But I think its creeping up on us. He's saying poop and grabbing at his diaper, seriously fighting diaper changes, and this morning he pooped, then took his diaper off, and continued watching Super Why. Remind me again the signs? Ugh.

That's impressive!
At daycare they do "potty tries" with my two. I think it's funny because they have no clue what they are doing I'm sure. Sometimes my DS will grab his diaper if I say "do you have poopy?" but that's the only connection I've seen. I am so not ready for that battle.

We have one of those potty seats that you put on the toilet but we haven't tried it yet. A few months ago I put him on the toilet once for a laugh and he freaked. I'm constantly telling him that mama and dad go pee pee and poop on the potty, in the hopes he catches on better when it is time.
Ada does those things recently too. I think I'm going to start at 2 just because I really don't want it to fail and then have to redo the pain again later.

I'm kind of jealous. Yesterday I let Jack go without a diaper because he had a rash. I put him on the potty a few times and nothing. Then he squatted and pooped in the cupboard.

I'm seriously dropping the ball, but Mel seems close to ready. She will grab her diaper and say potty when she has to pee. Itsnot all the time, but before life became hell, We had a day without wet diapers and 5 potty goes.
She isn't good at telling us before she poops, but as she is going or when she is done she points at her diaper and says pee pee.
If I were more on top of it and less insane, we might be trying to train.

I'm not ready either, oh man. X keeps pointed to his diaper and saying "caca" and then he pees or poops. DC thinks he's ready because he says it before he goes. She asked me if I wanted her to start training him and I said no, that he was too young...

I am thinking we are entering this territory too, and I am scared. I don't know if I have it in me to try and PT and have a newborn. But she poops predictably right after she eats breakfast and lunch, and tells me "poop" now. She's also been grabbing to try and take her diaper off when she's finished. And she comes into the bathroom with me now when I go, grabs some toilet paper, says poop, and tries to put it between my legs to wipe, lol.
I don't know what to do! I think maybe just getting a potty and sitting them on it a few times might give us an idea if it's time, UJ? I don't really know what I'm doing here, but it's worth a shot, haha.
We're in the same boat, too. We bought her a little potty a month or so ago when she started telling us that she had to pee or poop beforehand. Sometimes she wants to sit on it, most of the time she doesn't - I'm resisting this, so I'm sort of leaving it up to her. I'm not ready for this either, or I'd be trying harder to train her. She ALWAYS wants to shout poop! when I'm on the toilet though, even in public, and especially when I'm not even pooping. Booger.
Just run with it. My MIL tells me how my H was day trained at 18 months and completely trained by 20 months. Anna isn't quite ready, but I'm pretty sure she will be in the next few months. Jameson showed all signs of wanting to right around 2, but we delayed it a couple of months because of a big trip and I wish we would've just done it earlier. By the time we did it he was entering more into being a defiant 2 year old, instead of a super sweet young toddler, so it took more time. I will be jumping on the first chance to train now, I much prefer pottying to changing diapers.

OMG this is us too. Poop is one of her new favorite words, and it's no help that I think it sounds adorable when she says it, so I giggle, and now she starts yelling it if we're out and I'm peeing. Classic! This will be a traded college dorm story between them one day (heart)

We've had a little potty for ages. It's come in handy for the few times she's started pooping mid bath. We yank her out and throw her on the potty.
She loves to sit on the potty (fully clothed) when DH or I use the potty. But the few times we tried to put her on it before bath time she screams as soon as her bare butt touches the seat.
Andrew is an amazing kid so I'm sure he will be all set by 2! Haha.

I'm going to buy a potty in the next couple of months and keep it out for familiarity.
G is making more potty related connections, but no way am I trying to PT a non verbal toddler. We'll wait until he gains vocabulary. However, he could possibly be one of those boys that trains early-ish due to his OCD tendencies and rule following ways We'll just see if his bladder and bowel control development are ready at the same time he is cognitively.
We plan to attempt to potty train over the summer next year, but I'm not holding my breath. I know way too many boys who didn't potty train until 3.

Hot pee. Hot pee.
That still cracks me up.
Haha. I think about this story almost daily when Pey has a nasty wet dipe. H

It's become family legend at this point. We've got people in four states trying to get her to say "hot pee" on FaceTime every single day:) I wish she'd shout THAT in the bathroom at the mall instead of "mama, poop!".

We're in a similar situation but he grabs his diaper to tell me after he's gone poop or pee, so I don't think we're quite there yet. I'm fine with that because I have no idea where to start.

Wait until she's H's age and yells things like, "PAPA HAS TESTICLES" in the middle of the supermarket. True story.

I was not prepared for this. Coffee, meet keyboard. LOL!
