I got a call today for an interview. I'm a high school teacher but I applied for this elementary position. I totally forgot about it until I got the call.
It went exceptionally well. He outright told me how impressed he was with me. He told me he has to do other scheduled interviews tomorrow and he will let me know either way in the afternoon.
The position is only supposed to be for 6 weeks, but he told me the regular teacher is on medical leave and so he has no idea if/when she will be back. Her doctors note has no end date and he doesn't think she even has to check in with the board to discuss her options until the end of next month.
This would be HUGE for us financially since we close on the house in October and substitute work right now is basically nonexistent. It scares me a little to potentially have my face out of the high schools for networking reasons, this is a library and art position so I would have mornings as the school librarian (!!!) and afternoons teaching art to various grades.
I don't want to get my hopes up. And I've bitten off all my nails. Ahhhhhhhhh!

Thanks, ladies! I am cautiously optimistic. But I hate how optimistic I am. I'm starting to think I should DD this before I jinx myself. lol. But really.
Yes, it's an LTO so I would be paid on the grid which is pretty awesome.
I've been glued to my phone all morning. I know he will likely still be in interviews until early this afternoon but hopefully I hear something soon. Gah.
