And it made me cry. And it reminded me that I set up an e-mail address for Jack when he was a few weeks old. I used to send him e-mails that talked about what he is like and the things he does and the things we have done as a family and I often included pictures. I don't remember the last time I sent one now. Oops.
Has anyone else done something like this, or am I the biggest cheeseball here?
For a long time I bought him my favorite childhood books and would write notes in them. I haven't done it in ages though. I started when I was pregnant and haven't even thought to do it for #2 which makes me feel bad.

I've realized that there are multiple parts of his baby book that I haven't gotten around to filling out. Mommy guilt! Haha.
I send them emails of funny things they did and my. Babybooks have a calendar in the back so I try to write the hughlight of the day, just a word or 2 like ate peas or zoo or beach something easy
we both wrote him a letter in his babybook at the end of 6m and 1 year and I'd like to continue writing him one on his birthday. I wish I could do more but for now that's all I can handle!
I've been meaning to write him a letter for the past 18 months. Wait, make that 22 months...I think I started a letter when I found out he was a boy, but I never finished it. Someday....
I have a baby book (which I'm behind in) and a journal. I write letters to him in the journal as the mood strikes. I try not to put a structure to it. That way it's less stressful, and fun.
I need to start an email address, then one day she'll see the emails didn't start until she was 18 months and be like way to go mom lol. I just saw her baby book on the bookshelf the other day too, I haven't written a single thing in it.

I wrote him a letter when he was born. My letters are done. I'm just not that sentimental. I would rather watch Julian being silly and playing than fumble with a camera to take a video. I enjoy being in the moment and things like writing letters about events don't really interest me. I think it's a beautiful idea, but not something realistic for me.

Oh my gosh, way to go to the ones who do it (or even try to) once a month! I just logged into his account to make sure it still works and I've only sent 3. Oops. I'm going to try to be better.
BUT I noticed H sent him some. I told H about it when I set it up, but I didn't know he sent any. I'm awwing and teary. I didn't read them though because they are none of my business. How adorable is my H though? lol
I write letters every month to both kids; it has become a source of stress for me, to be honest, but I know I have to keep doing it.
And they are awesome and I'm jealous of your dedication.
I am totally beating myself up right now because I am so far behind for this month (the 20th and 28th are the deadline days for me, since those are the days the kids were born), and I tried to start writing them tonight before we leave tomorrow, but the kids were hard to get to bed and I've been up since 4:30 and now all I want to doooo is craaaaash. Waaaah.

This post made me tear up. I get way too emotional about these things. I keep up with the baby book and take a ton if pictures. I think writing letters would make my anxiety shoot through the roof.

I wanted to do this but never ended up doing it. I also never really did her baby book. I kind of suck . I do take a million photos though! But, ugh, I'm sad about the baby book.

I think you are covered. You take nice photos and Christmas cards!

I tried the whole letter, email account thing and I just couldn't keep up. I did do a calendar and tried to write down all the first year milestones.
Also, I barely got Farrah's babybook done, let alone Roxy's. If I can't keep up with her baby book, I can't imagine what it will look like for baby number 3 and so on!!
I do like the idea of a annual letter. I think that is a much more realistic goal for me!
