Since I had another person ask me this week if I was pregnant, I'm determined to start doing something about my weight. I could probably stand to lose about 20lbs, and the main place I'm carrying the weight is around my midsection. The last 6 weeks have been a challenge because we were packing and moving. we did a lot of fast food and unhealthy eating in general and too exhausted for exercising. Now that we're into the new house and things are settling in, I'm really going to try to do better - at both exercising and making food at home.
Anyone have any weightloss strategies that have been working well?
I know that I need to cut out the getting Subway breakfast multiple times a week. And I need to make sure I have food on hand at home to pack for lunch....and not go out to lunch frequently at work. I've been trying to limit my pop intake, but that's a tough one as I feel the need for the caffeine. But just looking for other things that have been working for other people....

Have you tried weight watchers? That worked for me because I could go ahead and incorporate a bit of fast food and soda and still make it work. I also did the 30 day shred and couch to 5k while I did weight watchers.

The thing I try to do is cook at home and bring my own lunches to work. I try to do this each week, but it doesn't always happen, is cooking ahead for the week on Sundays. Prepping veggies, cooking chicken breast, meal planning, etc. I love working out and running, but I also love to eat, so I need to keep my calories in check. I lost weight by counting calories a few years back. it worked for me, but I know it's not for everyone.

Pretty much this! Especially the loving to eat part. I avoid fast food, and cook big batches of food at a time to keep cooking to minimum. I'm in a unique position that my job provides a stipend for lunch and I take advantage, but I try to make good choices. I also work out 5 -6 days a week.
I've really enjoyed myfitnesspal.com. It's helped me keep track of my eating. It's essentially calorie counting, but I can use the database so it's easier than guessing. It's also helped me pay attention to just how much a serving is.
I also do slim fast for breakfast and some lunches.
