Top Underrated Restaurants in Boston

Also an AW .... DH's restaurant made the list

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty good list. We've liked a bunch of the places on there - Tryst, Highland Kitchen, etc.

Seriously! I think they misunderstood the meaning of the word "top." 

There's definitely a few on there that have me shaking my head, but especially Russell House. That place is like the definition of mediocrity; they can't even get a grilled cheese right! But there are some real gems on there: Garden at the Cellar, Marliave, Picco, the Salty Pig (I was there last night again with some friends - still delicious).  We keep talking about trying Tryst, and we're going to Mistral in a couple of weeks for our anniversary.

...um, vtdiamond, I can't remember which restaurant is your H's, but I really hope it isn't Russell House now, heh.

Hahaha, nope, it's in Beacon Hill.

And yeah I agree it's a ton of places, but with a few gems mixed in!

Yeah, that sounds about right. Though I'd say it's a little better than Tavern in the Square. But that's not really saying anything, since they can't even melt the freaking cheese in a grilled cheese. And Grafton Street is stupidly pretentious for what it is, I think.  

And vtdiamond, I remember which one it is now. My H literally lived around the corner from there when we were first dating, weirdly. We used to go sit at the bar there, but I don't remember ever actually eating there.

RockNVoll, I've heard good things about Bon Chon from people at work, too.  I have to check it out.

I've heard good things about Hungry Mother and Bondir so would like to give them both a try at some point. I had never heard of Scutra, anyone been there?

Scutra is in Arlington... WAY better than Tryst, I think. It's in a totally random spot on Summer Street, but worth checking out.

I have been to Hungry Mother, its pretty good. Some of thse places (including Hungry Mother) I was surprised to see on a list of "underrated places" because I feel like everyone knows about and goes there.
