IT'S FRIDAY!
Any plans?
Tonight I'm making a cake for a friends baby shower. Doing the last of the packing.
Tomorrow is moving day. So many emotions.
Sunday I want to make a trip to Ikea (though I should be unpacking). Common sense might win on this one.
I'm sort of upset at my parents. I think they bailed on me for this weekend (surprise, surprise). This whole time I've been picturing them helping me move. I've made a mental list of things I need to ask my dad and organizational advice to get from my mom... I'm totally bummed.

That's lame, partiallysunny. I'm sorry they bailed on you. Can you call them tonight and ask your questions?
Tonight I will continue my making of felt boards for PF.
Tomorrow I will continue making felt boards for PF. Probably take her to the park and spend time with the kitty (who is getting worse every day). Get a baby gift for our outing on Sunday.
Sunday we're supposed to go to H's cousin's (our vet, actually)house to meet her not-so-new baby.
partiallysunny, that sucks. I like the suggestion to call with your questions and I'm hoping they reconsider.
I have a full weekend! Tonight the craft group I'm part of is going out for a craft beer night, since my friend who usually hosts us out of town.
Saturday morning I'm going to an early (7:45) yoga class, then grabbing breakfast and coffee and heading to dance class. The rest of the day will probably include chores and reading.
Sunday is for watching football. In the evening one of my friends is having a Sunday dinner at his place, so I'll be cooking and going to that.

I don't want to call them. Maybe that's immature of me, but... ::shrug:: I'm stress and tired. I can regress every once and awhile.
My mom swore she'd get her schedule worked out so they could help. I let her know the date weeks ago. She didn't say anything. I text her Monday, she'll call me know Wednesday. And now it's Friday.
But my dad could tell my brother they probably aren't going because "it's a long drive".
This weekend is full of music, friends and brunch with my family. I am excited.
I am also extraordinarily excited. My boss booked my ticket. I am going to Milan in April for the International Furniture Fair. It's the biggest industry event for Interior Designers. I am so excited.

That's so exciting! Enjoy! I'm kind of jealous, Italy is amazing. Will you be able to squeeze in any side trips?
I love Italy too! I was there last November for Thanksgiving. This will be my first time in Milan though. I am only physically on the ground there for 3 days. It is going to be a whirlwind. Seeing the show is my priority it's huge. It's multiple buildings of the newest furniture and kitchen design.
I hope I can make the most of my time and at least see Da Vinci's Last Supper. Have you been to Milan before any thing else I might be able to squeeze in.
neonpink I'll check with my parents for recommendations. I was there when I was 10. We did 2 weeks in Italy, including time in Milan. Florence was by far my favorite city. Actually, I'll also check with my friend's ex-bf since he's from Milan.
It's been a weird week at work, so I'm glad for the weekend. Yay!
Today I'm going grocery shopping with my mom, then pup guy is coming over and we're going to our trivia place for FREE PIZZA (which we won last week at trivia). He asked if my mom wanted to come, awww. And we'll probably stay for trivia and try to win more free pizza.
Saturday we're all getting up early and going to a Gopher football game. It should be a lot of fun. Then going to Texas Roadhouse for bf's dad's birthday. I plan on singing very loud and embarrassing him.
Sunday we'll most likely go to the shooting range with his dad. I've never shot a gun before so they'll have to teach me. eeeeeep. And hopefully lounging around the rest of the day.

That is do exciting!
You're an interior designer? I had no idea.
Yep, that's my day job. I have to come on here and escape my drafting sometimes. It's a strange but fun job.

partiallysunny, do you have a couch and a couple of days?? lol
That's my way of saying it's a long story. They're both very...difficult people. I get it, they probably feel the same way about me and H. Maybe we're just very different from each other.
Tonight will be a DH & me kind of night. We haven't gotten to spend any time together since last weekend since we have both been at conferences all week.
Tomorrow I'm helping out at our rescue's adopt-a-thon and bringing the little RoxMonster. She's going to love it. Later in the day, DH and I are heading to some friends for a cookout.
Sunday there is ABSOLUTELY nothing on the agenda except for maybe a run and sleeping in late/being lazy.

I should have guessed from the Pantone avatar
Do you work for yourself or at a company?
I work for a very small company. My boss started on his own about 20 years ago, I work along side him and his partner does some design work and billing. We also have their chihuahuas which make work fun when you are having a bad day.
I do commercial and residential design. I've designed nail salons and car dealerships to small homes and monster mansions. Everyday is a little different.

Can I ask what your education is?
Your job is my dream job. I have an associates in architectural drafting, but I draw roaday. Which really isn't bad and pays the bills, but I'm completely jealous of you.

Holy crap, margarita! I don't know if I'd be able to handle that. Clearly you are a bigger person than I...
PS, I'm sorry your parents have flaked on you. If I lived closer I would totally help you move!!
This weekend I have no plans. I was going to get DS and bff's son together at some point but stbx's parents asked if they could have DS one night this weekend. To make that easier and to save me some discomfort, we decided that DS would spend the night with stbx tonight, then he would take DS to his parents tomorrow and I will pick him up on Sunday afternoon...
I'm kind of thinking about either driving up to Seattle, or down to Portland, and just spending the day there. Something to get out of my everyday surroundings and clear my head. I have a brand new camera, so I might just run around and take random pictures.

Oh and I have work today and Boyfriend has work tonight. Pout. I don't like being an adult!
Tomorrow I intend to be the drunk person at the sports bar cheering for my team. It is our huge rivalry game and I will be the only BYU fan there. And I love singing our fight song. Loudly.

Sure I have a BFA in Interior Design from a big University. It's a pretty rigorous program where you have to get in to Art school, then take another practical exam to get selected into your major. (They let 50 people in every year, usually 23-35 graduate.)
I juggle a lot of different things. I draft construction documents through AutoCAD (demo plans, new plans, electrical, ceiling plans, furniture plans) I also meet with clients or for commercial jobs I select finishes, furnishings etc. Lastly I spend time on job sites making sure what I want to be built gets done. My least favorite part is the budgets and excel files to make sure everything stays organized.
If you know how to draft. and you want to do this. There are always designers that need people to draft. For example my boss doesn't really know autocad, so every construction document that leaves our office I've drawn. A lot of designers that graduated when he did didn't learn to draft on a computer so they need help. It would be a great way to get a start.

Seems like a dream. I even love spreadsheets and budgets!
In my area, those type of jobs are few and far between, which is how I ended up where I am. And a career change isn't in my near future.
Thanks for sharing the pictures and feel free to share when ever you want! I love seeing.those sorts of things.
