I've heard greek/regular plain yogurt works fine, I have not tried it myself though.
We did this once and were meh on it. The flavor was lacking, and it was too watery. We did find, however, that doing half mayo and half yogurt works well and still cuts the fat and calories.
I make a curry chicken salad with Greek yogurt that is fabulous. I just throw curry and whatever other random spices I had on hand in with the chicken and yogurt. I served it with c/raisins and almonds.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."

I make curried chicken salad with yogurt. It's my take on an epicurious recipe. I follow the seasonings they suggest, but use an apple, red onion, craisins and walnuts for the additions.
A long time ago I made a chicken salad with a cottage cheese "mayo" that was good. I don't remember where I found the recipe, though.
Smashed up avocado brings it together nicely. Mayo makes me want to puke.
Oh wow, I bought the Kirkland canned chicken salad and made it with mashed avocado, red onions, lime, cilantro, and some salt/peppr. Put it on one of those Arnold's Whole Wheat Flats and whaaaallaaa, an amazing meal!
Thank you all, for the many suggestions, this one, is truly delicious. I will never eat it with Mayo ever again; which is great, b/c I really cannot stand Mayo.
