Teenagers, probably in HS. They said they had gotten an entire bag of oreos, apples and large candy bars. I had some individually wrapped Dove chocolates so that's what they got.

I remember having an assignment in high school sociology class to go out and test social norms. I think some kids went trick or treating....maybe that's what they were up to? I walked a goat around a grocery store parking lot and asked people to hold my goat while I tied my shoe

Yes we did stuff like this too in HS Psych/Soc. I'm sure they were harmless.
My friend and I did this when we were kids. It was August and we found the Halloween costume box at her house. We did her entire street, and everyone gave us candy. Her mom was so mad at us she made us return everything lol. FYI: We told everyone we were both going on vacation for Halloween lol

Lol um no.
When I was in Girl Scouts we did Trick or Treat for canned goods the week before Halloween ... You know, for charity. So something like that I would get. But ransoms coming up wanting candy in sept? Lololololol

We did this too. Some drove backwarss through a drive thru. I dont remember what I did. More than likely I just made something up.
It really sounds like they just smoked up and had a case of the munchies. Duuuuuude, lets pretend we have to trick-or-treat in September for a SCHOOL PROJECT! hahahahhaa yeahhhhhh

Weird, but I could see some of my HS students doing this too, trying to get candy (or doing it for a psych project like mentioned above).
I did trick-or-treating for canned goods for Key Club in HS, but we always put flyers in people's doors the week before, so they knew to expect us and have canned goods on hand if they wanted to help out. Some nice people even gave us candy on top of the canned goods!
Back in the day I had a friend who would go door to door and would say "my mom doesn't feed me, can you give me food?". Lolol. Her mom was piiiiised because she totally fed her all the time. I can see my friend pulling something like this.
