So, I have endometriosis. My periods are just a mess and always have been. However, I am on BC. It is usually a three month pack, then period. Well, I started the placebo week, started to bleed like normal, but now I have already started the new BC week, am almost through it, and I am still bleeding. Not a lot, just a little. Enough to warrant a change of a liner during the day. My back sort of hurts too, which is also weird. I called my doc and they said this happens, but I'm still mildly worried. At first I thought my eggo might be preggo somehow, but that doesn't seem likely at all.
this week it came down to a D&C or 8 weeks of progesterone to stop it. I started the progesterone 2 days ago and the bleeding is just now tapering off.
I was bleeding out orange sized clots though, so maybe different. We also tried a 5 day course of progesterone a couple weeks ago

My doc normally wants a pattern before seeing me. I wasn't on 3 month BC. A one off she doesn't worry about and it happens. A few months in a row she wants to see me. Doc is less concerned if things start off heavy but turns to just spotting after normal cycle length. If heavy bleeding/clots continue she usually schedules an office visit.
POAS. If neg, since you are on 3 month BC, I'd still call the doc. See what doc wants to do. Mine CBC, hormone, thyroid levels, and send me off for an ultrasound to see if it is a cyst or something internal causing the extra bleeding. Will treat on test results.
